Kwik Trip ahead of CNG station curve (w/ ANGI Equipment)

A little more than a year after entering the compressed natural gas market, Kwik Trip has installed the service in a dozen communities and plans to have 26 stations online by the end of the year.

That's more than twice what was originally planned and has made Wisconsin one of the nation's fastest-growing states for CNG fueling.

Alternative fuel superintendent Joel Hirschboeck credits consumer demand, but the La Crosse based convenience store is also helping pioneer the new fuel.

Kwik Trip is responsible for half of Wisconsin's public CNG stations that have opened since the end of 2011, more than doubling the state's previous network, according to data from the U.S. Department of Energy. Kwik Trip operates three of Minnesota's five public CNG stations.
